The Confederate June 6, 1861 dress regulations do not list orange in their section on facings.
Perhaps the most comprehensive study on Civil War uniforms has been the late Col. Frederick P. Todd's monumental "American Military Equipage 1851-1872" (1974-1983), a series of books sponsered by the COMPANY. Vol 2 deals with "State Forces" (1983) and orange is not mentionned as being proclaimed in TN. Rather that there was a great deal of variety. Pages 1194-1199 lists all TN confederate units (in small type as there are many) with details of their varied arms and clothing when known.
While not as entertaining as a football announcer's proclamations, I would suggest the above mentionned source as more reliable, and would encourage its consultation should you wish to pursue the matter.
