Unfortunately, I only know the little passed down in my family's history, as well as what I have been able to glean from online study and books with references to the 11th as a part of the campaigns of Wheeler and Forrest. One of my ancestors was 1lt James Minor Edmondson, the commander of E Company(Gordon's), after Captain Andrew Gordon was wounded and captured. The commander of the 11th (Col James Edmondson) was a first cousin of my GGG Grandfather. I am sorely disappointed that I will probably never know what the regimental flag looked like. I had wanted to have flagmaker John Pittsenbarger make a copy of it for my own satisfaction, and to use an image as a cover for our family book.
I will search out the book you recommended. I'm sure it will be of interest.
Attached is a picture of 1LT Edmondson taken while at home to replace his horse which was shot from under him. Probably in fall/winter of 1862-63
Thanks very much.
