Re: [Civil War] CS Marines Insignia

I am sorry to have fumbled the ball on this, sending the rank insignia for US Marine officers instead of what was asked for. The rank insignia for CS Marine officers was identical to that of CS Army officers. There are photographic examples of officers wearing the same shoulder knots worn by US Marines officers. However, there is no evidence that the application of metalllic or embroidered rank insignia was attached to the shoulder knots as was the case with US Marine officer shoulder knots. The one surviving example of a CS Marine officer's uniform - 1stLt Henry L. Graves - is preserved at the Atlanta History Center. The shoulder knots on this uniform are sewn directly to the shoulder and have no indication of rank badges ever being part of the device.
