John,

The "new" building on the site of the Regiment's armory contains a ten foot square insignia which was located on the side of the old armory and now is located in the lobby of 3 Park Avenue. There is also a bronze plaque on the 33rd Street side of the building. There are monuments related to the old regiment in Theodore Roosevelt Park, Suffolk County, NY and in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Hastings on Hudson, NY. There is also a wayside sign on the Bull Run Battlefield with some information on the 1861 service of the 71st. The Regiment lives on in its Veteran Association about 200 strong!
