Re: Has anyone seen this new WW1 film?

Yes! Very, very good! He uses footage from the Imperial War Museum to represent the typical experience of a WW1 soldier on the western front. The footage is British, of course, but the whole is meant to stand for the experience of soldiers on the ground from all nations and both sides. The colorization picks up at the moment the troops land in France and is superb. His own uniform collection formed the basis for the technical side. It's well worth staying to watch the 30 minute additional feature on making the movie.
