[Gen'l Info] Draft

Dear Friends,

I am a journalism student at New York University and am working on a story about the history of the American draft. I haven't decided yet if I'm going to focus on the entire history or just the events of the 20th century, but I am looking for a multigenerational family of individuals that was drafted and objected to fighting in American wars. Ideally I would like to trace a family's military history - perhaps a father that was drafted during WWII, but encouraged his sons or grandsons to be a conscientious objector or vice versa. The longer the families military history the better. If anyone has any other ideas of how I could approach this subject in a colorful way, please email me. Thank you for your time and interest.

Sincerely,

Emily Hager
