I doubt that the flag was captured at San Jacinto from the Guerrero Permante Bttn. If it is legitimate it could well be a camp or company flag used by Company K during the Civil War. Maybe it was flown at some patriotic send off when the 2d left Houston in early 1862 on their way to Mississippi. Or was it used at a recruiting station? At this stage, anyone's guess is as good as anyone else's.
