For the original info, see the 1841 ordnance manual and the 1833 and 1837 Ordnance Regs (I think that those are the correct two dates of issue), which describe (but not in detail) and price the objects. I have copies and can provide you the details if they are of interest to you. Fred Gaede's article has photos of the 2 styles of pick and brush sets usually encountered by collectors today, one with a domed head to the brush holder and one with a flat head to the holder. Some have brass picks and some have iron.
