[WW I] One Minute Before Twelve

I just read in the latest edition of the WFA "Bulletin" that the U. S. Department of Veterans Affairs estimated in September, 2004 that there were 100 American Expeditionary Force veterans living. One wonders what their estimate will be this coming September--about fifty? I can't really believe that the last AEF Doughboy is about to leave us from what was once an army of 4,700,000 men.
