I will allow that there are a number of parallels between the Philippine Insurrection of 1899 and the present war. Soldiers have always sung songs that belittle the enemy and his leaders--take, for example, "The Valley's a Hard Road to Travel", "Hang Jeff Davis from a Sour Apple Tree" and the "Colonel Bogie March". But somewhat more to the point of this thread--are the ribald verses (not in Dolph's collection) to the song, "Filipino Hombre".
