Louisiana (among others) is celebrating the 200th anniversary of the Louisiana Purchase. There will be a number of history related events during 2003, including a re-enactment of the actual transfer from France to the U.S. as it took place in Jackson Square, New Orleans on Dec 20, 1803. I am searching for an accurate description/picture of the uniform worn by the U.S. troops at that ceremony. I have been told that "Military Uniforms in America, Vol II, Years of Transition" may shed some light on this question, but have not been able to locate a copy of said volume to beg, borrow or purchase. Would appreciate any help available on this subject.
