[Civil War] military pin

Hi: I found your web site while trying to identify a pin I have, and am hoping someone can help me or direct me to someone who can.

I believe the pin has something to do with the Civil War. It's small, shaped like a shield with a 6-point star, a cross and a pine tree on it. The top of the pin has a raised arm holding a sword. The words on a banner around the edge of the shield-shape are: Two Hundred Eleventh, First Corps Cadets Mass, N.C. Artillery. Is this pin familiar to anyone? I found information about the "First Corps Cadets in Mass," but the "N.C. Artillery" is baffling to me. Best wishes, Cara B
