The webpage has an interesting unit history of the Sumter Light Artillery. Apparently the battery which was overrun on 2 April 1865 was in fact the 27th battery. This page does not mention a casualty count for that action but does state that all but 30 men were captured. You may want to look at some of the sources they list at the beginning of the article for additional information. The "Official Records" are now online as I mentioned in an earlier post, and provide an excellent, ready source of official battle reports.
