Gentlemen,

In reading the list, I suspect the "rifle pouch" refers to the cap pouch. Everything else on the list seems to make up a set of accoutrements (cartridege box belt and plate, waist belt and plate, bayonet scabbard and frog). The only piece missing is the cap pouch. Although the long range rifle may indeed be the Model 1855, it could also be the Model 1841 Rifle re-fitted with a long range sight. These weapons were used in some numbers in the 1850s and would be a likely weapon issued to militia companies as well as regular Army units.
