John, as you may be aware, there is a modern replica of "GW's" sword (one of which is in an exhibit case in the National Cryptologic Museum at Fort George G. Meade, MD), and I wonder if, perhaps, Dr. Lattimer had one of these replicas in his collection, rather than "the" original. Just a thought.
