Not to start the thread all over again, John, but can we ever expect to see the "official" British equivalent of the Va Hist Soc "accession card," that is to say, authoritative identification as British Mk 1 "lighter" [or "fuse lighter"?], date of introduction or use, purpose, explanation of markings, and perhaps photo of the right side, if not both? It would be so nice to lay this to rest, and I would hesitate to urge changing identification, etc., in the museum exhibit based upon equivalent of "hearsay evidence." (Consider your initial skepticism and what you'd want presented to you as basis for proposed changes.)
