[Gen'l Info] Hudson Bay Company post ?

I received this message from an antiques dealer in the UK, about a painting depicting what she believes is a Hudson Bay Company post in North America. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have been trying intermittently and for years now to identify the fort or settlement depicted in this early 19th century painting.

The flag flying above the house is a British white ensign. The sailing boat in the foreground suggests that the river/dam by the sawmill gives into an expansive stretch of water likely to be a lake. There is fairly substantial forestry in the background and it would appear likely that behind the main house upon which the flag is flying there may be extensive outbuildings contained within the perimeter of the wooden stockade. To the left of the flagpole there is what appears (to me) to be a dovecote mounted on a mast.
