John, The Museum of Mobile in Mobile, Alabama has a saddle you may be interested in. Our record/description is rather brief:

Silver mounted saddle presented to Colonel Jones M. Withers, April 17, 1848, 9th Reg't. USA of Pachuca, by the miners of Pachuca, El Chico.

Withers was a local hero and in the 1850s was mayor of Mobile. The saddle is currently in storage and in fair condition. Let me know if I can be of assistance.
