Dear Sir or Madame,
My name is Captain Rob Boone. I am currently in Iraq and have been here for 10 months now. I am scheduled to return Feb of 2004. While over here I have acquired many Iraqi Uniforms, medals, equipment, and some Syrian night vision. This is just a highlight of what I have sent home. The question I have is there a demand for any memorabilia from this war. I have seen many items on Ebay and I am disgusted by what people are trying to sell. I have taken the time to research and have put together authentic uniforms. the sellers on Ebay are selling uniforms that iraqis are selling of the street to soldiers. I have documentation to back up the types of uniforms and the ranks of each uniform. Back in July I raided one of Saddam's cousins house. He was a general in the Republican Guard. I was able to obtain his uniform and two certificates for valor signed by Saddam himself. How does one set value on these items. Being a student of history and having obtained a BA in History I understand the importance of preserving it. My intentions with some of the items I have obtained are to donate to museums, keep some things for my children to one day cherish and possibly sell some other items. So I guess i am asking your advice on how should I go about setting prices and and value to these these items. Thank you for your time.
