Re: [Civil War] 76th PA Volunteer Infantry (Keysto

Hello, Mike.

Did you take the plunge yet?

Please see:

Dyer, Frederick H. "A Compendium of the War of the Rebellion". (National Historical Society in cooperation with the Press of the Morningside Bookshop, Dayton, 1979) Vol. 2, p. 1599 for a list of assignments and regimental service. The list of assignments to corps and divisions and list of battles will lead you to revelant volumes of "War of the Rebellion, The Official Records of the Union and Confederate Armies".

Sauers, Richard A. "Advance the Colors, Pennsylvania Civil War Battle Flags". (Capital Preservation Comittee, 1987)has pictures of colors and the color sergeant, pp. 205-207. This reference also lists the counties where the companies of the regiment were raised. He also list a bibliography for the regiment including the Simon Bennage diary and the John J. Miller letters at USAMHI, Carlisle Barracks and the william S. Diller Papers at the Historical Society of Pennsylvania.
